Victoria Housing Starts Continue Strong Pace

CMHC reports Victoria’s housing starts continued to rise in April at 292 vs the previous month  at 234 and the same time last year at 268. Starts for the year are trending at 2,434 vs last year’s total of 2008. This is a significant improvement over the 1,315 starts posted in 2014. Historically, Victoria’s housing market is reasonably strong in terms of demand and employment at 2,000+ starts.
