Strong Start for Victoria’s Single Detached Homes

CMHC reports a strong start for single detached homes in Victoria increasing from 48 in January 2015 to 61 in January 2016. Multi-family housing starts have declined, however those numbers rise and fall monthly depending on permit approvals. Single detached housing is a more accurate reflection of growth, employment and an improving economy. This is the product young families are more likely to purchase if they are getting traction in the economy.
