Single Detached Housing Up

Single detached housing starts continue to rise in Victoria posting 48 in October 2014 vs 38 in October 2013. Year to date, single detached starts are at 471 vs 429 last year.

Condos are down from 1,270 in 2013 to 1,058 in 2014.

Construction of single detached homes indicates a stronger economy, more young people securing jobs and starting families. Most BC municipalities are posting increased single detached housing starts.
