New Canadian Budget

Here is what we know so far about Canada’s new budget as it impacts housing:

The budget provides $128.8 million over five years, starting in 2016–17, to Natural Resources Canada to deliver energy efficiency policies and programs reducing the environmental impact of energy use.

The government pledges $2.3-billion in social infrastructure over the next two years. Of that money, provinces and territories will receive $2.2-billion, including $700-million for affordable housing initiatives, with another $739-million dedicated to First Nations housing.
