Housing Starts Take a Breather, Already Past Last Year’s Total

While Victoria’s housing starts took a slight breather in September, the industry remains strong and the year-to-date total for January to September remains 56% higher than the same period last year. There were 972 units in 2014 vs 1,518 this year. A good housing economy for the Victoria region is 2,000 starts and it appears we will be very close to that number by year end. Total housing starts for last year were 1,315 so we have already passed that mark.

Here are CMHC’s numbers Victoria.
