CMHC’s latest data indicate continued strong housing starts for Greater Victoria. Langford continues to lead with 122, primarily due to their emphasis on efficiency and affordability, followed by Saanich and Victoria. The big surprise is North Saanich posting 26 vs 4 this time last year. Their total for 2016 was 52, so they have achieved half of that number in the first two months of 2017. More housing supply in the Peninsula is long overdue, so let’s hope it continues.
